Why is the day I buy bathroom scales, the perfect one to start writing about food?
A kilo of meat did no one any good: whether on the kitchen stove or on one’s belly. Nonetheless, the juice of life lies in pork drippings. It is this deep relationship that I share with meats (and non-meats) that has led me start food writing.
Today, the first day of the last month of the year 2013 marks the day when everything yummy that travels to my mouth will get chronicled. Roasted, grilled, baked, steamed, slow cooked, smoked, sizzled, pan fired, shallow fried and the vereee rarely deep-fried. Everything.
Hope my musings are crisp, entertaining and mouth-watering. And hope I follow my ma’s philosophy” kaum taele moch-mocha bhaaja”. In other words,”crispy fried in shallow oil”
